Common Questions

Can we use Caily without an EHR integration?

Absolutely. Many communities start with Caily's secure communication features alone — replacing unsafe personal texting and WhatsApp with a HIPAA-compliant chat platform — and add EHR integration later. You still get a full staff dashboard, message history, and family-facing app from day one. The EHR integration is a powerful add-on, not a requirement to get started. If you choose to get started without an EHR integration, you can be up and running in as little as a few hours.

How long does EHR integration take?

Most communities that integrate with their EHR are up and running in 3–6 weeks. The EHR integration takes 3–4 weeks and requires minimal time your staff, we do all the heavy lifting. Staff training follows a train-the-trainer approach and typically takes just one session.

Will our staff actually use it?

Caily is designed around radical simplicity - it's as easy as texting. Your staff won't need to learn a new concept they already use familiar chat-style messaging on existing work devices.

What EHR systems do you integrate with?

We are currently working on integrations with PointClickCare, Matrix360, Alis, August Health, WellSky, and many others. Please request a demo to learn how we can integrate with your EHR in just a few weeks. If you don't have an EHR, Caily's communication features work as a standalone tool.

What does it cost?

Pricing is per resident per month with a one-time setup fee for EHR integrations. We offer preferred pricing for nonprofits and LeadingAge members. Request a demo for a custom quote.

Our EHR already has a family communication portal. Why do we need Caily?

Most EHR family portals were built for documentation, not communication — and your staff and families know it. Low adoption on both sides is common because they're clunky, hard to navigate, and require logins that families rarely remember. Caily is purpose-built for communication first, which means staff actually use it and families actually engage with it. And unlike your EHR, Caily also solves the internal staff communication problem, replacing the personal group texts and WhatsApp threads your team is likely relying on today to coordinate care. One simple platform for staff-to-staff, staff-to-family, and everything in between.
